Relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan, with a common historical and cultural background, provide the basis for important interactions, especially in the geopolitical and security fields. This study used the futures research method to analyze the impact of the geopolitical codes of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Iran's national security after the Second Karabakh War. Using the analysis of goals and trends, key stakeholders were identified and political-geopolitical developments were examined. The findings showed that these codes have multifaceted and significant impacts on Iran's national security; including changing the regional balance of power, increasing border security threats, and making diplomatic relations more complex. For example, Azerbaijan's expansion of military cooperation with Western countries and the possibility of joining NATO, as one of the geopolitical codes under study, significantly overshadow Iran's security. To address these challenges, strategies such as direct diplomacy, imposing economic and cultural restrictions, strengthening regional economic and security cooperation, addressing ethnic and religious issues, and developing cultural diplomacy were proposed. The results of this study emphasize the need to strengthen active diplomacy, diversify regional relations, and use multilateral diplomacy tools to reduce tensions and ensure Iran's national interests. The importance of these findings lies in providing practical strategies for effectively managing geopolitical challenges arising from the policies of the Republic of Azerbaijan and enhancing Iran's national security.
